Kristin Fischer is set to join CNN as the Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. As the Correspondent for Defence and Space at CNN, she's responsible to cover everything ranging from NASA and its recently created Space Force up until commercial space firms, as well as the advent and growth of tourism to space. Being the child and the mother of two NASA astronauts, Kristin has a background in the field of space and has was a part of the space industry for five years, covering the Trump and Biden Space Policy of the Administration as a White House Correspondent for FOX News. Through this time, she covered the presidential 2020 campaign, the impeachment trial, two efforts to stop the corona virus pandemic, and two other administrations' efforts. She also was a frequent traveler with President Trump as well as Vice President Biden extensively. This included a secret trip to Afghanistan. Prior to becoming a part of the company in the year 2015, Kristin spent nearly a decade advancing in local TV news stations which included Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she received one Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the city's CBS affiliate. Kristin used her experience in the field to create Field Mouse Films. The company specialized in producing documentary-style films and was a favorite of corporate clients like Uber, Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin received her Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Boston University. She and her husband reside at Washington, D.C., and she has a 3 year old daughter.
